Christopher Peng is a high school student in the Seattle area who enjoys exploring ideas, making things, and solving problems. Whether he's drawing a still life, working through a challenging math problem, or planning his next move in a board game, he loves the process of discovery and finding creative solutions. He especially enjoys making things that are both imaginative and practical, whether that's a kinetic sculpture, a piece of foldable cardboard furniture he can bring to gatherings, or an artwork inspired by mathematics and science. He makes art following his core values of creativity and impact.

Art is one of the ways Christopher brings together his many interests and expresses his fascination for the patterns and connections that link them. His 2D art portfolio blends mathematics, engineering, and even quantum mechanics into his work. Christopher uses art as a medium to turn these complex ideas into engaging and accessible creations.

 

Christopher also has a passion for creating 3D art. Many of his projects explore upcycling, in which he transforms everyday household items into beautiful, functional objects. Old clothes, cardboard shipping boxes, soda cans, and other materials that might otherwise be thrown away often become the starting point for his projects. Other projects involve art in motion, combining engineering and art to create beautiful moving contraptions.

 

His diverse portfolio includes music as well as visual art. He explores a wide variety of genres, experimenting with digital instruments, traditional instruments, music samples, and sound effects to create his original tracks. His work is inspired by his experience as a violinist and jazz drummer.
